Since more than 10 years I live now permanently in Riyadh/Saudi Arabia. I gained a lot of impressions about this country. Some of them I want to display on these pages.
One time a year a festival is celebrated at the museum city of Jannadriyah, located in the North East of Riyadh. At houses, built in historical style, the development of the Saudi culture is presented. The highlight of the Jannadriyah festival is the famous Camel Race.
The left picture shows one of the gates to the museum city build in the typical mud house style. On top of the towers and of the wall are arror slits recognizable.
The right picture shows a group of historical clothed Beduins performing historical dances at an area covered with hand-made carpets.
The background allows a view on the city wall of Jannadriyah with the typical round towers. The museum city was built in the style of a desert fortress.
