Bangkok, the Capital of the Kingdom of Thailand, is an exciting city in South East Asia. The Thai people call their capital officially Grung Thep Mahanakorn [กรุง เทพ มหานคร]. That means translated "City of Angels, Large City". Bangkoks skyline is the skyline of a Metropolis City with high rising office towers and hotel palaces. The registered number of inhabitants is about 8 millions.
The traffic on the main roads of the city runs on 2- and 3-story streets, one road on top of the other. This type of traffic routing was developed to avoid traffic infarct.
The left picture shows Wat Arun [วัด อรุณ], the temple of the dawn. (Arun Sawad [อรุณ สวัสดิ์] = good morning). Wat Arun was built by Khmer Architects during the reign of King Rama II. It was finalized under King Rama III in early 19th Century. The elevation of the building is 104 m.
The picture on the right shows Rama IV Road at the corner to Silom Road and Ratchadamri Road build as 2-storey street.
These 2 pictures show only a very small part of this exiting Asian Metropolis City.
